DESCRIPTION:This mobile course if ideal A great idea for: Evaluation of your horses feet, Saddle Clubs – FFA -, 4-H Clubs, Guest Ranches (Wranglers), Rodeo Clubs, Agriculture Schools, Riding/Boarding Stables, Reservations- Wrangler Schools Classes are available nationwide with advance booking and deposits required just two weeks before class. Please call for information on our portable unit and classes.

Day One – Anatomy Studies

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Lunch 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
12:30 to 5:00 p.m.

Learn to recognize the following:

    • Correct & incorrect combinations
    • Pastern angle of hoof
    • Skeletal structure from the knee down
    • Different types of ailments:
  • White Line Disease
  • Lamints or Founder
  • Navicular
  • Ring Bone
  • Abscess
  • Thrush
  • Barrel Cactus
  • Long Toe – Low Heels
  • 45 question people should ask their farrier
  • Learn the difference between a certified farrier and a Cowboy shoer

Day Two – Start Shoeing A Horse

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Lunch 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
12:30 to 5:00 p.m.

  • Learn medial-lateral balance of Horses’ feet and proper angle
  • Learn to recognize the amount of hoof to be removed from foot
  • Learn Goode’s 1st and 2nd phase, to pull the foot back under the horse’s body
  • Learn Natural Balance System

Day Three-Shoeing Techniques

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Lunch 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
12:30 to 5:00 p.m.

  • Nailing
  • Shoe Shaping
  • How to use the Hoof Stand
  • Proper Angle
  • Medial-Lateral Balance
  • Respecting the Horse
